UEH realizes the dream of foreign internship for students

In the cooperative programs between the School of Tourism (UEH) and the Stenden University of Applied Sciences – Netherlands, in the afternoon of January 10th, 2018, at Room A.103, at Campus 59C Nguyen Dinh Chieu, there was the meeting between the UEH board of management and 28 elite students for internship in Stenden University of Applied Sciences – Netherlands from 27th January to 26th April 2018.

Attending the event, on the guest’s side there were Mr. Le Phong Tran – Director of outbound tour department (Fiditour), Ms. Tran Huyen Tran – Representative of the Netherlands Entrepreneur Community.

On UEH’s side, there were Assoc. Dr. Pham Van Nang – Former President of UEH, President of UEH-Alumni; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Huy Nhut – Vice President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thanh Trang – Dean of School of International Business – Marketing; Dr. Nguyen Duc Tri – Dean of School of Tourism, along with leaders, officials, 28 students and their parents.

Delivering welcoming remark, Dr. Nguyen Duc Tri highlighted the importance of the internship in Netherlands and the achieving results from this interesting journey will be helpful preparations for students after graduation. Assoc. Prof. Doc. Nguyen Huu Huy Nhut , on behalf of the UEH board of management, emphasized three important elements in UEH developing strategy, which are to become a research-oriented university; a multiple-disciplines institution; and educational internationalization with the student – centered spirit.. The specific activities in the UEH internationalized strategy include student exchange program within internship and graduation thesis as well as student exchange in some semesters. Assoc. Prof. Doc. Nguyen Huu Huy Nhut also sent the greatest wishes and helpful advices to the 28 students for the upcoming journey.

The event also included the signing ceremony to mark the collaboration between UEH School of Tourism and Fiditour Company to provide UEH high quality human resources to tourism enterprises. UEH Alumni Representative, Assoc. Prof. Doc. Nang Van Pham sent encouraging gifts to students (100 euro per student) from the UEH alumni through the Golf-Swing for Future 2017 award.

The UEH internship journey to the Netherlands and the idea of expanding collaboration to other nations will be the platform for students to have the opportunities of experiencing the international study environment and adapting to the integration and globalization.
